At a certain age, some of the young women start dreaming of their wedding as they see married couples and attend weddings. They start thinking of how beautiful theirs could be, the colors they will chose, where is it going to be, where will they go for their honeymoon, etc,..... Some of those ladies are aged around eighteen years and up, but little do they know that with such commitment comes huge responsibilities. Sometimes it works out perfectly and they get the wedding they want and sometimes if they are not prepared for it, it goes wrong. The latter was unfortunately the case of Carla.
It started three years ago, Carla who has just turned eighteen was getting ready to graduate from High school in Florida. She was one of the most brilliant students in her class. She graduated as an Honor Student being in the top ten percent of her class with a Grade Point Average of 4.2 over 5 and a Total Point Average of 99 over 100. As you can see she had a promising future ahead of her. Well some few months after her graduation, she met Charles. He was standing tall and imposing in the crowd of guests who came to Carla's friend Gloria's birthday party. Charles happened to be Gloria's cousin, he was tall and really handsome, looking at the way he was moving in the crowd, one can say that He was really sociable and nice towards everybody. At a moment during the party, Carla caught him looking at her and they exchanged smiles. Then she heard a deep voice saying "Hello dear, hope you are enjoying yourself ". And that's how it all started. She found out that he lives miles away, in Nebraska more precisely, and that he just came for his favorite cousin's birthday party. She also found out that he was twenty five years and was preparing his Masters in International Business at Devry University. Charles kind of became her date through out the night and as she was leaving they exchanged numbers. As days went by they have been talking talking for hours on the phone, trying to know each other more and one thing leading to another they started dating.
That's how a month later, Charles decided to pay a visit to his "new found " love who he also calls All-in-one as he said she has all the qualities he was looking for in a woman. Carla who came from a good home led by the fear of God and her own principles decided to introduce Charles to her parents as her boyfriend which Charles accepted. So they started a long-distance relationship in which they see each other every two months alternatively making the trip. As in any relationships they have their ups and downs, but soon Carla started realizing that Charles had a bad habit which she hated and it was his going days without giving her news even after her many phone calls. It gets so bad at times that even his aunt who was living in Nebraska too will not have news from him for days. And all the time he will come with the same excuse i was busy with work and school; Charles had his own limousines rental business. As naive as Carla was at Eighteen, she said to herself no one is perfect and that was his bad side. She trusted him so much because he appeared of being a responsible man even planning on buying her an engagement ring. So they continued like that for a year until the unfortunate happened.....
It was her turn to go and visit Charles, and she knew that she missed her periods but will not think of the possibility of a pregnancy since they always had protected sex until the last time Charles came to visit and was out of preservatives. The thought of being pregnant frightened her as she was just Nineteen and was doing really well in College. Her thoughts was troubling her. What will she say to her parents if she was pregnant? What will be the next step? How having a baby will affect her life? She managed to shake off those fears by reassuring herself that Charles has promised to ask her hands in marriage soon. Before she boarded the plane, she called Charles to inform him of what the situation was. He calmed her down and told her that he will get a pregnancy test for her when she gets there and they will see from there. The next day upon her arrival Charles bought her a pregnancy test which she took, the result.....She is pregnant.
At first Charles tried to calm her down by telling her that everything is going to be fine. He will get married to her and he will help out with the baby so that she can go back to her studies after putting to bed. He even picked up his phone and called his aunt to inform her of the news. Two days later, Carla realized that Charles character kind of changed, he was not as caring as before and was wondering why, but he will always tell her that everything was fine and she should not worry but rest and take care of herself and their unborn child. The day she was leaving him to go back to Florida, she was scared of what to tell her parents, wondering how she will engage her pregnancy issue. One thing is sure they will be disappointed in her and that thought saddened her deeply. They lovebirds say their goodbyes as she was checking in to board her plane.
When she got home and called Charles, his phone was switched off. She thought it was just one of his bad habit moment and that she might probably hear of him soon. She decided then to check her mails but instead was shocked as she got a message from Charles telling her that she should find the father of her child and that he doesn't have anything to do with her condition. The whole world seemed to fall around Carla, and tears started coming out of her eyes..........

hmmmm...If I were Carla, I will tell my parents about the situation, though I know they may be disappointed a bit.
I will have the baby and take a paternity test to prove to Charles that he is indeed the father.
